Samples of Past Work
We are the spinners of the threads that create the fabric of life.
Those who wield sharp tools in order to create the soft things that protect, comfort, & adorn.
The ancient alchemists of the vital elements of nature.
We mirror the cyclical rhythms of our spindles as we spin intertwining webs of fierce strength through unyielding compassion.
We are a powerful group connected deeply through our generational roots, so we may call upon that strength as we uphold the ritual of this magical practice… with our spindles, wheels, & wands.
About Willow
Willow is a 3rd generation woodworker & fiber artist. She has spent many years collecting, studying, & spinning different spindle styles throughout history & from around the world. She owns ancient whorls from different archeological dig sites, antique spindles of almost every style created, & more modern adaptations of spindles that are commonly used today. Out of every style of spindle that she has used, from the very 1st historical accounts of spinning, Russian supported spindles are her most favorite. The meditative qualities, the efficiency, the precise control of the yarn characteristics, ability to be used with all breeds & types of fiber, & the overall feel of the spindle itself, have endeared Russian spindles as her most used & created spindles. She shares her passion for these special spindles with her own, unique, artistic style, as well as enhanced & refined functionality.
Willow spins religiously... knits, weaves, & crochets when she's not scouring a fleece, turning a spindle, or homeschooling her children. As a mother of 7 beloved humans, a flock of 6 precious parrots, & 1 adorably ornery cat, she's working towards relocating her family & woodshop to her own little sheep farm & homestead someday.
